Goal(s) (expectations):
· Students will successfully build a clay project using techniques taught, in the form of the
assigned subject matter.
Strategies:
· Discuss a brief history of clay and how it has been used through history
· Discuss origins of clay, how it is formed, where we find it.
· Discuss characteristics and properties of clay
· Look at visuals of clay pieces created by artists (possibly some similar to the assigned subject matter)
· Discuss these pieces and the techniques that will be used to form the assigned subject matter.
· Introduce vocabulary throughout lesson.
· Demonstrate how to build clay assignment using techniques discussed
· Students will begin to form individual clay projects using techniques demonstrated.
